Work Integrated Learning Western Sydney University seeks to enhance student learning experiences by enabling students to engage in the culture, expectations and practices of their profession or discipline. This course includes a placement or other community-based unpaid practical experience. There is an optional work component available in this course. International students should be aware that if an elective is a requirement of the course but the work itself was not registered with CRICOS, students can still complete these electives but it would be counted towards the work limitation. Enrolment in elective units is subject to availability and meeting rules for individual units for example co-requisite and pre-requisite rules.
Students enrolled in this course who wish to graduate with a standalone law degree prior to completion of the entire Bachelor of Business component must transfer to course Bachelor of Laws Non Graduate Entry which requires the completion of credit points inclusive of 80 credit points of non-LLB study.
Commencing from Spring - Students may exit with the Diploma in Laws on completion of 80 credit points, comprising 20 credit points of specified Law core units and 60 credit points of Law core or alternate units, as provided in the course structure. Students should refer to the Bachelor of Business handbook entry and the handbook entry for the Business Major for details of the Bachelor of Business Core units, Professional units and the Major units.
Please note MT Hospitality Management will no longer be available from mid year Please note: MT Marketing is replaced by MT Marketing for students who commence this course from the academic year. Continuing students enrolled in MT will be able to remain in and successfully complete the requirements of this specialisation. Please note Business Analytics is a new specialisation commencing from Students in the Accounting major are advised to complete unit Revenue Law as one of their eight LLB alternate units.
Students who do not complete Revenue Law as part of their law degree will be required to complete this unit or Taxation Law separately. This means that students who wish to achieve accreditation will also need to complete Contemporary Management Accounting. Students who later resume the law degree component of the course cannot count Law of Business Organisations or Taxation Law towards their law degree.
Students in the Property major should note that in order to achieve accreditation with the Australian Property Institute API , they will need to complete an additional two units 20 credit points over and above the credit points of this course and take the other accreditation unit as an elective.
