I apologize - I asked my boyfriend about the most demanding game he'd tried on my computer - and he said it was Crysis and it ran very well on my computer. When I ran the game, I saw every setting was on high, so I assumed that was max. I didn't know there was a 'very high'! But, gameplay is still great, no frame skipping or anything like that.

That's very odd as I was under the assumption that NCIX was similar to Newegg or Tigerdirect in that you would have to assemble the parts yourself. You must have had to pay extra for the assembly somewhere, unless your boyfriend surprised you and didn't tell you he put it together.

Assembling one isn't too terrible hard though, but I wouldn't recommend it as blindly as some of the other people on the PC Hardware board might because it's something that you can screw up if you aren't delicate. With the Alienware, you are actually paying for stuff you won't use and I know you won't be upgrading the parts by your own hands to make use of them. That means you are paying an outrageous amount for hardware that is designed to use multiple video cards and yet all you get is one.
